THE NAKED COLLECTIVE (2017 - 2022)
GRAPHIC DESIGNER | ART DIRECTOR | BRANDING | VISUAL IDENTITY
The Naked Collective was an artist collective that I founded in 2018. It was born from the idea to bring together small-time creatives from all across the world to build a community based on our shared love for creativity. It was sustained by the collective sharing of one another’s work, especially from within the group – I thought of it as an exponential way to share our team’s work. This was a passion project of mine so I was responsible for creating every single post promoting each time an artist from the roster had a new release – whether that be a painting, an illustration, poetry, music, or films. That also meant that I got to develop the brand from the ground up. We had a large social media presence, artist interviews, a podcast, and two online art shows – all of which I art directed and designed everything.
During its run, the collective gained traction and movement through social media where we were able to share and repost all of our work being shared. So it was imperative that the team had a distinct online presence, which ended up being this clean, minimal look that is widely contrasted by the color that emanated from the actual works of the artists.
Towards the end of its lifespan, we had a final online art show for Halloween. In contrast to the “glass anatomy” aesthetic that I utilized for the first online event, I chose a different direction for the Halloween event. Instead, I developed a “stippled flora” look to encompass the entire event. And I created graphics ownable to each artist participating artist in the show (about 53 participants).
